About Scouting
Scouting is the largest youth development organisation in Australia and the world and is a leader in this country's non-formal education sector.
Scouting, which has been in existence since 1907, and in Australia since 1908, has the aim of developing young people physically, intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and socially.
The Moranbah Scout Group is part of the Central Western Region.
We are an active Scout Group providing a great way for the Leaders of tomorrow to learn adventure skills and sense of community through crafts, outdoor activity and challenges. Scouting is for boys and girls from ages 6 to 26 in sections called:
Joey Scouts
Cub Scouts
Scouts
Venturer Scouts
Rovers
The Moranbah Scout Group currently has active sections in Joey Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts & Venturers.
By enrolling your child in Scouts you are giving them the opportunity for a fun educational experience above and beyond what the school system offers. In this respect Scouting is often referred to as non-formal education.
Scouting helps young people to meet and conquer challenges, enabling them to develop leadership skills and confidence that will serve them through their entire lives. All activities are in line with the Aims, Principles and Goals of Scouting. All Scouts adopt a code of living known as the Scout Law.
New members are always welcome at Moranbah Scout Group.
If you are interested in joining, please contact Queensland Scout Centre on (07) 3870 7000 or Free Call 1800 0'SCOUT' (1800 072 688).
